Riser containment and Cat6A backbone through a multi-floor building

The brief

A building riser needed new data containment and backbone cabling installed to serve floor distributors — without compromising the fire compartmentation between floors and plant areas.

What we delivered

• Wire basket tray and unistrut support steelwork through the riser route
• LSZH Cat6A backbone looms, banded at regular intervals, maintained bend radius through every change of direction
• Physical segregation from power circuits sharing the route, with earth bonding continuity across containment sections
• Proprietary multi-cable transit frames at compartment penetrations, re-sealed and inspected after cable installation — the barrier is only as good as its reinstatement

The detail that matters

Fire-stopping is the part of a cabling job nobody sees and every building control officer checks. We treat transit reinstatement as part of the cabling scope, not someone else’s problem.

Handover

Route photographs, transit register for the fire-stopping record, and test results for the installed links.
